FREE – 1 Mile shot prep (please RSVP so I can plan how many are making the call)
REGISTRATION
Getting ready for our May 31st event, we’ll go through the ballistic set-up and process you will need in order to make impacts at 1 mile. There are some critical aspects to getting your ballistics right, and some work arounds in ballistic calculators when you are working at these extreme distances.
Some critical knowledge:
#1 – Are you using a high quality bullet with very consistent BC from bullet to bullet? Berger Hornady ELD-Match at a minimum, or A-tip, etc.
#1B – Is your Kestrel set up {PRECISELY for your rifle — zero offset, sight height, etc).
#2 – What is your ammo MV, ES (extreme spread), and SD (standard deviation)
#3 – Ballistic review — Do you have enough dial in your scope for the elevation you will need to dial?
#4 – Transonic — At what range is your bullet entering transonic (threshold 1), and exiting into subsonic (threshold #2)
#5 – How to true your calculator to the impacts you are seeing when the bullet muzzle velocity is subsonic
